Phoenix 98510 Review

Phoenix 98510 Easy-Up Manual Treadmill
Phoenix 98510 Easy-Up Manual Treadmill
Phoenix 98510 Treadmill[/caption]The Phoenix Easy-Up Manual Treadmill is small and compact and requires no electricity to run. It has virtually no frills or extras, which is exactly what some very discerning and cash-conservative consumers love about it.

This is a treadmill made for people who want the option to walk indoors, for those that have very little storage space, or for those that think that they need a treadmill to get in shape but for whatever reason don’t want to buy an electric treadmill.

The one feature that is really neat is how small it is and how well it folds up and stores away, though the surface area is sort of silly – it’s a mere 13″ wide. Some of you might say, “That’s more than a foot! How much room do you need?” And you might be right.

I would also suggest that this treadmill is really more suited to walking rather than running. Walking is a great exercise in itself, but with the added incline to help the belt move a little more freely, you end up working a little harder than you normally would at the same speed.

Though there are some reports of people using it to jog or run, I would advise against it. There is virtually no padding or suspension, and there is a good chance that joint pain and injury can arise if used to for anything more intensive than speed walking.

Because it has no motor, it is extremely quiet. No need to blast the tv or radio when working out. But since it takes your own foot-power to get it going, there is a bit of a learning curve to get it going smoothly. The deck is quite short, though, so watch that you don’t fall off the end!

Setup in most cases is a mere 20 minutes as well, but this is also where we find most of the problems. There is a bit of a quality control issue when it comes to this machine, and it seems that many people have had issues getting it properly set up. Some that don’t have problems assembling it has problems with a jerky belt.

The bottom line is that some people are thrilled with this treadmill while others have had nothing but problems with it. My suggestion would be to buy something else, but if you must buy this very treadmill, do buy it through Amazon where you know that you can have it replaced or refunded if you need to. While some people do love it, there are far too many people receiving lemons out there – protect yourself!
