Smooth 7.35 Review

Smooth Fitness 7.35 Folding Treadmill

What’s Hot: Overall, the quality of the Smooth 7.35 treadmill is more than adequate for home use. It’s built to be durable and will hold up easily to regular home use. Favorite feature? Extra-long 62″ running deck is great for long legs and long strides.

What’s Not: There are a lot of customer service complaints. Some consumers couldn’t get in touch with them regarding warranty issues or faulty equipment at all, while others note that with a little patience, they were able to get in touch with a friendly representative.

The Bottom Line: There are a lot of people who own it and love it. It really is a great treadmill for the price, but chances of getting a lemon compounded with reports of poor-to-non-existent customer service from Smooth Fitness itself has us a bit worried. We like the Reebok 910 as an alternative.

Can a treadmill be fully-featured, have tremendous quality, and carry a great warranty all while sporting a reasonable price tag? Before the Smooth 7.35 treadmill, the answer was probably no. Thank goodness the 7.35 is here to stay!

This treadmill works well for just about any treadmill enthusiast but was really created to cater to the hard-core runners of the world. But even if you aren’t interested in being that hardcore, the Smooth 7.35 might grab your attention.

My favorite feature is how roomy it is. The 7.35 has a whopping 20 x 62-inch running surface with a built-in cushioning system to keep your joints safe. And with a powerful 3.25 HP motor, running at speeds up to 12 MPH is no problem.

Need versatility? Keep your runs more interesting by raising the incline to one of 15 different settings, using one of the 25 built-in workouts – including 2 customizable programs, or download the trainer app for tablets.

This isn’t a light machine, but it is designed to move around and store fairly well. There are wheels to help move it from room to room, and the running deck will fold up when not in use. A nice feature is that the deck will smoothly lower itself on at the push of a foot button!

Other great features include an MP3 compatible speaker system, including USB charge input and separate audio in. There is a water bottle holder, Heart rate control with wireless heart rate strap, a reading/tablet/phone rack, and a built-in fan.

Smooth advertises that they back this treadmill with a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, a whopping 7 years on all other parts and electronics, and to top it off, they give you 2 years of in-home service. One note we need to make is that customer service does seem to make itself unavailable for some people, who have been very loud about their problems, including defective machines or not even receiving their treadmill at all.

It may not be the cheapest treadmill, but it is very reasonably priced when all of the features, accessories, and warranty are taken into consideration. Whether you want a good treadmill for walking or for running, the Smooth 7.35 is certainly worth a look.
